Matthew 28:19 
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

The Bible is clear that faith in Jesus Christ alone is what makes us Christians. But it also clear that we’re to “go public” with our faith through baptism Matthew 28:19. Baptism is an outward sign of an inward commitment; a mini drama that symbolizes our identification with Christ’s death (as we go under the water) and his resurrection (as we come up). See Romans 6:3-4; Colossians 2:12; 1 Peter 3:21. In Christ we’re a new person and have chosen to follow Jesus for the rest of our lives.
