What to Expect

In-person & Online communities

In this season, we are fully committed to building our community whether gathered in-person or digitally. Worship, teaching, prayer and group meetings are all available online, as well as electronic resources to help you grow in your faith. For those who choose to meet in person, safety and cleaning protocols are in place to mitigate health risks.

A Warm Welcome

We are a neighborhood church, so you might see someone you know from school or the park or the neighborhood association. Wear what you are most comfortable in - whether business casual or your favorite team's jersey. Members of our Welcome Team will greet you at every entrance and are ready to help you make your first visit to what we hope becomes your new church home.

Meaningful Worship

We believe that the Bible is God's word to us and we use it to bring all of life into focus. Bible reading and teaching is central to our worship service and our pastors will sometimes preach straight through a book of the Bible and sometimes collect verses relevant to a common topic for a series. And in each service we use a variety of art and music styles to reinforce all that is good, beautiful and true.

Personal Connection

It's easy to become a part of something bigger than yourself at City Church. As a Christian community, we welcome you to share with us the joys and difficulties of life that we all experience. Joining a Growth Group or serving others is a great way to develop friendships, deepen your faith and live out values of justice and peace in our world.

Family Friendly

Families are encouraged to worship together, so you'll see children and teens on Sunday mornings as well as our older generations. Early childhood classes for those birth - 5 years old are available on the lower level. Video overflow is available in the lobby for little ones who need to move during the 45 minute long service. We believe that parents are the primary and life-long spiritual mentors for their children and we want to equip them well to teach their children, as well as provide fun and safe opportunities for children and teens to connect with other trusted and wise adults.

COVID-19 Policy

City Church strongly recommends masking use over the mouth and nose for all people, whether they are fully vaccinated or not, ages three and up, while they are in services, visiting in the lobby, and attending other indoor activities. CityKids volunteers are required to be masked regardless of vaccination status. If an individual is feeling unwell or has any symptoms correlated with the COVID-19 virus, we ask that individual to worship from home and remain offsite. We desire to reflect the suggested guidelines for worship communities from the City of Minneapolis, Hennepin County, and the State of Minnesota/Minnesota Department of Health. We believe this policy allows us to continue our "Love God, Love Others" mission statement safely, based firmly in Jesus' commandment to "love your neighbor" in Matthew 22. If there are any changes to the current health status of the Church or surrounding community, this policy may be subject to immediate change.
