A Gift of Yourself

Posted by Paul Merrill on

This week my friend and long time blogger, Paul Merrill is guest posting. I love his insight into how each of us can share our creativity with others. He took this photo from his home in Colorado.

Even in the midst of riots and the pandemic, God's love continues. Look up at the sky.

God's artistry is all around us. Every sunset and ocean wave is different. He's expressing His creativity in countless ways every day. Open your senses and be aware of what He's doing to show you He cares.

You, too, can bless others with a gift that reflects your creativity.

Even if you're not a visual artist, you are creative. Dig in and think of ways you might share your gifts with others.

Your camera probably comes with you everywhere, either in your pocket, purse or backpack. Start taking photos of everyday life and make a surprise photo book for someone you love.

If you're not a cook, stretch your boundaries by making a meal for your neighbor. Find a simple recipe and make it with the best ingredients you can get.

If you really hate the idea of making a meal, treat a friend to dinner in a part of town neither of you have visited - and maybe from an ethnic restaurant genre you've never tried.

Start a journal of reflections and give it to your sister a year from now.

Go for a walk in the forest and bring back five of the most interesting leaves you find.

Surprise someone.
