My Father's House

Posted by Lee Colvin on

With many of us staying at home all day, it appears there are lots of home projects going on. My husband and I have remodeled 3 houses during our marriage. Each one has been a combination of creativity, hard physical work, and sleepless nights worrying if all was going to turn out or send us to financial ruin.

Each time we have asked God to guide us along the way and He has provided.

But the truth is, none of the houses ever turned out as I had hoped. They are expensive to maintain, they break down, styles change and they become dated.

We live in an imperfect world. Small things like refrigerators break down. Big things like viruses and riots break out.

Our true home only comes from God. He is our refuge.
Psalm 18:2 The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Jesus gives us the promise that one day we will live in a home He has prepared for us.
John 14:2 My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?
